In-Home Euthanasia

Franklin, TN

End of life care in the comfort of your own home

Why choose in-home euthanasia?

The word “euthanasia” comes from the Greek words “eu” (good) and “thanatos” (death). Euthanasia allows a pet to experience a “good death” instead of having to suffer a slow or painful death. It is our honor in the veterinary profession to help pets live well and die gracefully. Saying goodbye is never easy but doing it at home can be of great benefit to your pet by providing less stress, more comfort in a familiar setting, the ability to spend their final moments in their favorite spot or in your arms, a more peaceful, private atmosphere, and less rush. Choosing to prevent suffering is one of the kindness things you can do for your pet, and we want to make this transition as smooth, peaceful, and caring as possible for you and your pet.

  • "I was very impressed with Bentley Veterinary Services. Dr. Smith was very caring, kind, and compassionate and professional in her approach and did an outstanding job. They provide a great service for those people that would like to have end of life services for their animals in the comfort of their own home. I would highly recommend Bentley Veterinary Services and would utilize their company again."

  • "Amy was amazing beyond words when we had to put our 14 year old dog down. She was able to get to our house within a few hours of my initial contact with her. The process was very easy and her patience and understanding level was exactly what we needed in such a time of chaos. I feel connected to her forever as she was part of our dogs final moments. Highly recommend!"

  • "Dr. Smith was tremendous. She helped our 15-year-old cat pass on peacefully at home. She was great with the cat, but even better with the humans. Dr. Smith explained everything step by step and comforted us throughout the process. She anticipated things which might upset us and warned us in advance. The extra touches and the compassion were so impressive. She followed up with us and our regular veterinarian the next day. From start to finish she was both professionally competent as a veterinarian and profoundly empathetic as a person. It was clear that she had prepared little details specifically for us and our pet. On the business side of things, the rates were reasonable and transparent. It was easy to make arrangements and communicate about the appointment. We cannot say enough positive things about Bentley Veterinary Service and Dr. Smith."
